About Sober Tracker by Embr
Sober Tracker by Embr is built by Thijs Hiemstra, an independent developer based in the Netherlands. It's a small, one-person operation. No team, no investors, no growth targets to hit.
Sober Tracker exists because the gap was obvious. Most sobriety apps are built around the AA framework: rock bottom, sponsors, daily affirmations, the "alcoholic" identity. That works for a lot of people. It also leaves a lot of people out. People who drink too much but don't want to call themselves an alcoholic. People who want to drink less without quitting entirely. People who are sober curious and not sure yet. Sober Tracker is for them.
The app does a few things well and doesn't try to do more. It tracks your day. It rides out cravings with a 90-second breathing exercise. It tells you, plainly, what's happening to your body at day 7, day 30, day 100. It does not ping you with quotes. It does not ask you to share anything. It does not collect your data. None of your check-ins leave your phone.
